Update: Police investigate suspicious death in Bowness

After further investigation into the death of a woman that occurred in the northwest community of Bowness on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, detectives believe the death to be non-criminal. 

As such, no further information will be released.

We are on scene investigating a suspicious death that occurred in the northwest community of Bowness. 

Today, Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at approximately 1:10 p.m., we were called to a residence in the 4600 block of 73 Street N.W., for reports of a woman in medical distress. 

Upon arrival, police located the woman and despite lifesaving efforts on scene the woman succumbed to her injuries. 

Our Homicide Unit is now investigating. As the investigation is in the early stages, no additional details are available at this time. 

An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner tomorrow, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 9 a.m.
