Update: Notifying citizens of stolen police uniforms
We have recovered some items related to an investigation of stolen police uniforms.
On Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, we were called to a Calgary residence for reports that operational Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) uniforms and a non-operational Edmonton Police Service (EPS) uniform had been stolen.
A few weeks later, our investigators received an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip with information regarding some of the stolen uniform items which were then returned to a Calgary Police district office.
In the interest of public safety, please note the below items that are still outstanding.
RCMP operational items that remain outstanding include:
- Soft body armour
- RCMP duty belt containing no tools or ammunition
- Dump pouch for duty belt
- Plain clothes firearm holster
- RCMP toque
- International RCMP uniform shirts, long and short sleeved
- A small SentrySafe
- Soft police duty bag
- Hard police duty bag
EPS non-operational items that remain outstanding include:
- EPS duty hat
- EPS dress uniform
