UPDATE: Fatal Shooting - 50 Street S.E.

Following an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the victim of a fatal shooting on the weekend has been identified.

Adam COLQUHOUN, 43, of Calgary, died as a result of the shooting.

The investigation continues. No further information is available at this time.

Homicide Unit investigating fatal shooting - 50 Street S.E.

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating after an early morning shooting.

At approximately 1 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018, police were called to a motel in the 1800 block of 50 Street S.E. for reports of two men involved in an altercation which led to shots being fired.

When police arrived on scene, they found a man in his 40s in life threatening condition. He was taken to hospital and has since succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the victim will be released after an autopsy scheduled for Monday, July 30, 2018.

Investigators continue to speak to witnesses in an effort to release information to the public about a suspect description. They do not believe this is a random incident.
