Update: Child injured in hit and run

Traffic Section investigators continue to seek public assistance in locating the driver involved in a serious hit-and-run collision involving a child.

At approximately 10:40 a.m., on Monday, June 22, 2020, a serious injury collision occurred in the 0-100 block of Deerfield Villas S.E.

A three-year-old girl named Kaylie was crossing a green space towards her home when she was struck by a vehicle resulting in serious head injuries.

The driver did not remain at the scene.

Police are looking for a minivan-style vehicle, possibly dark green. The driver is described as a black male with very close-cropped hair or a bald head.
