Update: Charges laid in road rage assault

In September of 2023, we asked for the public’s help to locate a man who assaulted another driver after a road rage incident that took place in the southwest community of Coach Hill.

On Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, police were called to Sarcee Trail S.W., and Old Banff Coach Road S.W., by two witnesses who intervened in an assault stemming from a road rage incident. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, and the victim was transported to hospital in serious condition. Thanks to the information provided by the witnesses, investigators were able to create a composite sketch and release additional details seeking assistance from the public.

Over the past 16 months, investigators have continued to search for the individual believed to be responsible for the assault. Last week, after over a year of investigating and an additional witness coming forward, investigators charged one man in relation to the incident.

Trenton SUKOVIEFF, 38, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of mischief to property under $5,000. He will next appear in court tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025.
