Update #4: Police issue emergency alert in search for missing child Parker
The Calgary Police Service has issued an Alberta Emergency Alert in the ongoing search for Parker, 11, who has been missing since Thursday, July 16, 2026.
While this case does not meet Alberta's legislated criteria for an AMBER Alert, the Government of Alberta has granted an exemption allowing the Calgary Police Service to utilize the Alberta Emergency Alert system due to the unique circumstances of this investigation.
Parker is a vulnerable, neurodivergent missing child, and investigators remain concerned for his well-being given the length of time he has been missing and his specific vulnerabilities.
"We are grateful to the Government of Alberta for approving the use of the Alberta Emergency Alert system in this case," said Staff Sgt. and Incident Commander Becky Spohr. "While this is not an AMBER Alert, this alert will help us reach Albertans quickly and generate additional awareness as we continue our efforts to locate Parker safely."
The emergency alert asks residents in Calgary, particularly in the communities of Cambrian Heights, Thorncliffe, North Haven, Highwood, Highland Park and Greenview, to be vigilant and check their properties for any sign of Parker.
Parker was last seen shirtless, wearing dark shorts and black noise-cancelling headphones. He is described as 4'11" tall, weighing approximately 90 pounds, with brown hair, a shaved head and brown eyes.
He was last seen at his day home in the 0 to 100 block of Connaught Drive N.W. sometime between 11:08 and 11:41 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Articles of clothing believed to belong to Parker were found around noon in the 0 to 100 block of Northmount Drive N.W. Parker was captured on CCTV footage on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 12:52 p.m. taken in the 5000-6000 block of Travis Crescent N.E.
Parker is neurodivergent and non-verbal and may become even more scared if confronted by strangers. If Parker is located, members of the public are asked not to approach him. Instead, keep him in sight and call 911 immediately.
