Update #3: Police investigate fatal shooting in Haysboro

We have charged a man in the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Madisson COBB, which occurred over the weekend in the southwest community of Haysboro.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., on Saturday, July 19, 2025, we responded to reports of gunshots in a parking garage at the Shops at Heritage, located at 8835 Macleod Tr. S.W.

Upon arrival, police and emergency services personnel located the victim suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, however, despite lifesaving efforts, Madisson was declared deceased at the scene.

An autopsy completed today, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, ruled the death of 23-year-old Madisson COBB a homicide.

Yesterday, Monday, July 21, 2025, Devon Bradley MALIK, 26, of Calgary, was taken into custody at the Super 8 Motel, located in the 7500 block of Macleod Trail S.W., in relation to this investigation. 

MALIK is charged with first-degree murder in relation to the death of Madisson.

He will next appear in court tomorrow, Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

MALIK and Madisson were previously in a relationship that ended earlier this year.
