Update #3 - Two charged in murder of man downtown

Charges against two men in the fatal stabbing of a man downtown in July have been upgraded to second-degree murder.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, we responded to the 0-100 block of Dermont Baldwin Way S.E. for reports of a stabbing and robbery. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds. He was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition. Sadly the victim, Gurdeep Singh MUNDI, 37, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025.

Immediately following the incident, members of the Mounted Patrol Team, who were already patrolling the area, located and arrested two suspects nearby. Both suspects were initially charged with aggravated assault.

Through the course of court appearances related to this incident, the accused, Neil HENDERSON, 36, and Donovan Cameron COLLINS, 34, have had their charges upgraded to second-degree murder. They appeared in court today, Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, where they were remanded into custody pending their next court appearance on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025.

“The pursuit of justice does not stop when suspects are taken into custody at the outset of an incident. Hard work by dedicated detectives and helpful information brought forward by the public mean we are able to present solid evidence to the court, ensuring those who choose to take a life are held accountable for it,” says Homicide Unit Staff Sgt. Mark Rahn.
