UPDATE #3 - Police investigate fatal stabbing in Copperfield

We have laid second-degree murder charges against one youth and one man in relation to the fatal stabbing that occurred in the community of Copperfield on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023.

The accused, aged 16 and 18, each face one count of second-degree murder in the homicide of 18-year-old Danillo CANALES GLENN.

Under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the 16-year-old offender cannot be named. The name of the 18-year-old man has not been released to ensure the identity of the youth is protected under these provisions.

The youth and the man will next appear in court on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023.
