Update #2: Police investigating undetermined death at SAIT

Our Homicide Unit continues to investigate the death of a woman whose body was located earlier this week at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).

At approximately 5:40 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, we were called to a student residence tower at SAIT, located in the 100 block of Dr Carpenter Circle N.W., for reports of a deceased woman.

An autopsy was conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, however the woman’s manner of death remains undetermined.

As part of the investigation, we are looking to speak with a man who is believed to have had contact with the woman prior to her death. Investigators believe this man may have information that could assist the investigation.

The man is described as 5’8” to 5’9” tall, with a medium build.
