Update #2- Police investigate downtown stabbing

The victim of a downtown stabbing on Thursday, July 24, 2025, has succumbed to his injuries.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, we responded to the 0-100 block of Dermont Baldwin Way S.E. for reports of a stabbing and robbery. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds. He was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Yesterday, Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy completed today, Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 37-year-old Gurdeep Singh MUNDI.

We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the stabbing or may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the southeast corner of Riverfront Avenue S.E. and Fourth Street S.E. between 8:30 and 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, to contact police by calling 403-266-1234.
