Update #2 – Fatal shooting in Saddle Ridge

Our investigators have located the suspect vehicle believed to be involved in this homicide. We would like to thank the public and media for their support.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding the fatal shooting on Wednesday, April 20, is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service non-emergency number at 403-266-1234.

Update on fatal shooting in Saddle Ridge

We continue to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred yesterday in Saddle Ridge.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, we received multiple calls for reports of gunshots heard in the 200 block of Saddlecrest Boulevard N.E. Upon arrival, officers found evidence of a shooting and a man suffering from what appeared to be a fatal gunshot wound.

An autopsy was performed today, Thursday, April 21, 2022, and the victim has been identified by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as Hisham Ahmed, 24.

We are seeking public assistance to locate a suspect vehicle seen fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting. The vehicle is described as a dark-coloured, 2003 to 2006 GMC Sierra truck with aftermarket headlights and exhaust system.

Anyone with information about this incident, or who may have seen suspicious activity in the area of Saddlecrest Boulevard prior to the shooting, is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
