UPDATE – Police investigate fatal shooting in Forest Lawn
The victim of the fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, has now been identified.
An autopsy was completed today, Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, which confirmed the identity of the victim as Samuel WELDAY HAILE, 24, of Calgary.
This is Calgary’s 26th homicide of the year and investigators are currently determining the motivation behind this incident. At this point, it is unknown if this was a targeted shooting.
