Update - Police investigate serious pedestrian collision in city’s northwest

The 17-year-old boy who sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a 2011 Buick Enclave on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, has sadly succumbed to his injuries.

A teen is in life-threatening condition following a collision that occurred in the community of Huntington Hills yesterday evening.

At approximately 6:20 p.m., on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, we were called to the intersection of Hunterview Drive N.W. and Hunterbrook Road N.W., for reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.

At that time, a 2011 Buick Enclave, driven by a 79-year-old woman, was travelling southbound along Hunterview Drive N.W., approaching the intersection with Hunterbrook Road N.W.

It is believed that at the same time, a 17-year-old boy on a skateboard entered the intersection from Hunterbrook Road N.W., when he was struck by the Buick.

The pedestrian suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

The driver remained at the scene and was not injured.

Excessive speed, drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in this collision.
