Two people charged in suspicious death downtown

Two people have been charged with second-degree murder in relation to a man who was found deceased in a downtown apartment earlier this week. One of the accused was arrested last night, while the second remains wanted on Canada-wide warrants.

At approximately 9:40 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, police responded to a complaint at an apartment building, located in the 200 block of 6 Avenue S.E. Upon arrival, officers located a man believed to be in his mid-20s deceased inside one of the units. An autopsy is scheduled with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022. The victim’s identity can only be released upon completion of the autopsy.

At this time, it is believed that the suspects and the victim knew each other and that a fatal assault occurred as a result of a domestic-related matter. Details of the nature of the relationship between all three individuals forms part of the investigation and will not be released at this time.

Dominic HOOD, 29, was arrested at 11:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, in the 100 block of Pine Hill Place N.E.

We are still seeking the whereabouts of 27-year-old Jordan Curtis Vaughn SMITH. She is described as 5’2” tall, approximately 120 pounds, with a slim build, long brown hair and brown eyes.
