Two men charged in February bank robbery

The Calgary Police Service Robbery Unit has charged two men in connection with a bank robbery that occurred last week.

On Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at approximately 11:10 a.m., an unknown man entered the Scotiabank, located in the 1900 block of Uxbridge Drive N.W., and approached a teller. He presented a robbery note, which indicated he had a weapon and demanded money. He was then given an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Upon further investigation, detectives in the CPS Robbery Unit determined that a second man assisted in the robbery.

On Thursday, March 3, 2016, investigators arrested two men in connection with this incident.

Daniel Stephen GIBSON, 33, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of robbery and three outstanding warrants. He will next appear in court on Friday, March 11, 2016.

Sukhmanjit Singh DHINDSA, 20, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of robbery and 17 outstanding warrants. He will next appear in court on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
