Two men charged, drugs, weapons and ammunition seized
We have charged two men with more than a dozen offences after a stolen motorcycle investigation led police to seizing thousands of dollars worth of drugs, dangerous weapons and ammunition from a residence in northeast Calgary.
Earlier this month, officers were investigating a motorcycle that was reported stolen from the southeast community of Seton in the early morning hours on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024. Evidence then led them to a residence located in the 6700 block of Temple Drive N.E., where they believed the motorcycle was being stored.
As a result, our officers executed a search warrant at the residence on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, in relation to the stolen motorcycle, and also recovered a large quantity of drugs, multiple weapons and ammunition.
Following the search of the residence numerous items were seized, including:
· The stolen motorcycle
· A disassembled Glock handgun
· A Smith and Wesson M&P 15 assault rifle
· A Winchester 12-gauge shotgun
· 36 rounds of 9 mm ammunition
· 38 rounds of 12-gauge shotgun ammunition
· 279 rounds of .223-calibre ammunition
· 14 rounds of .22LR-calibre ammunition
· Approximately 87 grams of methamphetamine
· Approximately 237 grams of psilocybin
· Approximately 35 grams of cocaine
· 7,500 ml of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB)
· Approximately seven grams of crack cocaine
Robert CVITANOVIC, 53, and Rory William Dane LIBBRECHT, 25, both of Calgary, were arrested and charged with several offences.
CVITANOVIC is charged with:
· Five counts of trafficking
· Three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
· Two counts of possession of restricted ammunition
· Two counts of breach of probation
· Hazardous storage of a firearm
· Possession of a weapon obtained by crime
· Driving while suspended
· Failure to comply with a release order
· Proceeds of crime under $5,000
He will next appear in court on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024.
LIBBRECHT is charged with:
· Four counts of failure to comply with a release order
· Possession of crack cocaine
He will next appear in court tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024.
