Two men charged after series of break and enters

We have charged two men with theft and other offences after nine retail establishments, including Sephora, Best Buy, and Shoppers Drug Mart locations were broken into

The suspects caused extensive damage to these stores, stealing more than $50,000 worth of fragrances, electronics and other items.

On Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, investigators executed search warrants on two homes – one in the 0 to 100 block of Homestead Park N.E., and one in the 1500 block of 10 Avenue S.E., as well as an associated vehicle.

As a result of those searches, we seized more than 100 sealed fragrances, electronics, trading cards and other stolen merchandise, as well as tools and disguises believed to be used for the break and enters.

Jordan ASSELIN, 36, of Calgary, is charged with:

·         Seven counts of breaking and entering to commit theft

·         One count of breaking and entering with intent to commit theft

·         One count of mischief under $5,000

·         Nine counts of disguise with intent to commit a crime

Dustin WOOD, 45, of Calgary, is charged with:

·         Seven counts of breaking and entering to commit theft

·         One count of breaking and entering with intent to commit theft

·         One count of mischief under $5,000

·         Nine counts of disguise with intent to commit a crime

“Not only did these individuals steal thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, they also caused thousands of dollars of damage in the process,” said Insp. Colleen Bowers of the Calgary Police Service, District 7. “These arrests mean two prolific criminals are off the streets.”
