Two in custody following fatal altercation

Officers patrolling downtown early this morning located a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. Additional resources quickly flooded the area to locate the suspects, who were swiftly taken into custody.

At approximately 3 a.m., on Thursday, May 25, 2023, the victim was located at the City Hall CTrain Station and transported to hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries. It is believed the fatal altercation occurred in Olympic Plaza and that the victim made his way to the CTrain station before collapsing.

Officers utilized real-time CCTV from Calgary Transit, along with assistance from witnesses, to track down two suspects, a man and a woman. The suspects were taken into custody without incident for questioning.

An autopsy has been scheduled for today, Thursday, May 25, 2023.
