Two charged, guns seized following apartment shooting

Two men have been charged in connection with a shooting in a downtown apartment earlier this week.

Around 3 a.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, police were called to an apartment in the 900 block of 14 Avenue S.W., when the resident reported waking up to a loud bang and finding a hole in his bedroom wall, just above the headboard of his bed. “This was a terrifying event for the occupants who awoke to the sound of a gunshot big enough to blast a whole in the wall, right above where they were sleeping. Illegal use and storage of firearms is a matter of public safety that we take very seriously,” says General Investigations Unit Staff Sgt. Kurt Jacobs.
