Two charged after drug shipment intercepted

More than $900,000 worth of drugs, a loaded handgun and drug paraphernalia were seized and two people have been charged after a package was intercepted at the Calgary Airport.

On Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, German Border Authorities alerted the RCMP, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Calgary Police Service to a shipment of drugs arriving at the Calgary International Airport. Police attended the airport and with the assistance of CBSA, located the package and seized it.

On Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, police utilized a number of tactics to locate the intended recipient of the package which led them to an address in the 500 block of Cantrell Place S.W.

A search warrant was executed on the residence and several items were seized including:

·       12.9 kg of ketamine

·       89.2 g of hydromorphone

·       26.4 g of cocaine

·       A loaded SR9 handgun

·       9 mm ammunition

·       Canadian currency

·       Drug paraphernalia including packaging, weigh scale and buffing agent

As a result of the investigation, two people have been charged.

Scott Sinclair LEIER, 36, and Kelly Corinne ROBINSON, 34, both of Calgary, have each been charged with:

·       Three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking

·       One count of importing narcotics

·       One count of possession of the proceeds of crime

·       One count of hazardous storage of a firearm

·       One count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public

·       One count of unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon

·       One count of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition

They will next appear in court today, Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025.

“This investigation demonstrates the critical importance of collaboration between policing agencies and our partners at the border. By working together, we were able to intercept a significant shipment of narcotics before it could reach our streets,” says District 2 A/ Staff  Sgt. Kerry Parsons. “Removing over $900,000 worth of drugs, along with a loaded firearm from circulation is a major step in protecting our community from the violence and harm that often accompany organized drug trafficking.”
