Toddler dies in pedestrian-related collision

We are investigating a fatal collision that occurred today, Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, at approximately 4:30 p.m., in the intersection of Hull Avenue S.W. and Horton Road S.W. 

A toddler was in a stroller being pushed in a marked crosswalk by two adults when a westbound Jeep Cherokee turned south into the intersection, striking the stroller. 

The child was rushed to the hospital, but was sadly pronounced deceased at approximately 6 p.m. Neither of the adults sustained any injuries. 

The driver remained on the scene and is cooperative with police. Neither impairment nor speed are considered factors in this investigation.

Roads in the area are expected to remain closed for the next four to six hours. Please avoid the area.
