Three men facing 20 charges in weapons seizure
Earlier this month, members of our Gun Violence Enforcement Team arrested and charged three men who were found to be in possession of prohibited firearms and in violation of release orders, with one man wanted on outstanding warrants.
On Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, police executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Covington Rise N.E., resulting in the seizure of the following:
- A Glock 17 handgun
- An H&R Arms Company .22 calibre revolver
- A 3D printed Glock 18 handgun
- A 3D printer
- A 3D printed Glock magazine
- A 3D printed silencer
- A replica BB gun
As a result of the investigation, Robert CVITANOVIC, 55, is charged with:
- Two counts of failing to comply with a release order
- One count each of unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of an unauthorized firearm and possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Three counts of breaching a firearms prohibition order
CVITANOVIC is schedule to next appear in court on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026.
John Wayne KIRBY, 44, is charged with:
- Two counts of failing to comply with a release order
- One count each of unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of an unauthorized firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition and breach of a firearms prohibition order
KIRBY is scheduled to next appear in court on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026.
Travis Ricky Cameron ROBILLARD-BALL, 35, is charged with:
- Two counts of failing to comply with a release order
- One count of possession of a prohibited device knowing its possession is unauthorized
- Three counts of breaching of a firearms prohibition order
ROBILLARD-BALL is scheduled to next appear in court on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026.
“Every crime gun we seize is one less weapon that can be used to harm someone in our community,” says Staff Sergeant Matt Gow of the Calgary Police Service Organized Crime Enforcement Unit. “Removing these firearms from the hands of offenders is one of the most important ways we can prevent violence and keep Calgarians safe.”
