Teen charged in Pineridge assault

We have charged a teen in connection with a serious assault that left a woman in life-threatening condition.

At approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026, we were called for reports of an altercation occurring in a residence in the community of Pineridge. Upon arrival, a woman in her 50s was located in medical distress and transported to hospital in life-threatening condition, where she remains. 

A 15-year-old male was taken into custody at the scene and has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of mischief to property under $5,000. The teen cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

He will next appear in court on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

As this incident is domestic in nature, no further details will be shared.
