Suspicious death of woman in Forest Lawn

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has been called out to investigate the suspicious death of a woman in the community of Forest Lawn last night.

Police were called to a residence in the 1800 block of 42 Street S.E., just after 11 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016, for reports of a woman in medical distress. Upon arrival they found a woman in her 30s with injuries. She was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition where she later died as a result of her injuries.

Officers quickly circulated the area and took three people into custody for questioning. Charges have not yet been laid.

Investigators do not believe this to be a random incident, however, an exact motive is yet to be known.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place today, Wednesday, June 1, 2016.
