Suspects wanted on warrants in human trafficking investigation arrested

One woman and three youths who were wanted on warrants in relation to a human trafficking investigation from December 2017 have been arrested.

On Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, Jessica Nyome Louise VINJE, 29, of Calgary was taken into custody without incident. She was charged with one count each of human trafficking, material benefit – human trafficking, sexual assault, unlawful confinement, voyeurism and assault. VINJE will next appear in court on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018.

The three youths also facing charges in this investigation were located shortly after VINJE’s arrest and were also taken into custody without incident.

A 16-year-old male was charged with one count each of human trafficking, material benefit – human trafficking, sexual assault, unlawful confinement, voyeurism, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm and uttering threats.

A 17-year-old female was charged with one count each of human trafficking, material benefit – human trafficking, sexual assault, unlawful confinement, voyeurism and assault.

A 17-year-old male was charged with one count each of human trafficking, material benefit – human trafficking, sexual assault, unlawful confinement and voyeurism.
