Suspects sought in unprovoked assault

Investigators are seeking assistance from the public to identify two people believed to be connected to an unprovoked attack on a man at the City Hall CTrain platform in April.

Just before 8 p.m., on April 18, 2022, a man in his 50s entered a shelter on the City Hall LRT platform. Moments later an unknown man and an unknown woman approached him. The man grabbed the victim and threw him from the platform onto the train tracks headfirst. The suspects then fled the area, leaving the victim unconscious on the train tracks.

Transit officers quickly located the victim and called for EMS. The victim was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

After following up on a number of investigative leads and working to obtain information from the victim once he was well enough to do so, officers are now releasing CCTV images of the suspects in hopes of identifying and locating them.

The man is described as approximately 5’8” tall, with a slim build, short dark hair with dark stubbled facial hair. He was wearing a brown bomber-style jacket and blue jeans and black dress shoes.

The woman is described as approximately 5’8” tall, with a slim build. She was wearing a red hooded jacket and black pants.
