Stabbing in northwest Calgary

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a stabbing in the northwest.

At approximately 7 p.m., today, Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, witnesses called to say a woman and child were located in distress in a green space near the 100 block of Berberry Crescent N.W.

Initial reports suggest both were suffering from stab wounds. They have since been transported to hospital in serious but stable condition.

A man has been taken into custody at the scene.
