Requests for mail-in ballots

A voter whose name is contained in the permanent electors register (electors register) and who is unable to vote at an Advance Vote station (remaining days: Oct. 9, Oct. 10 and 11, 2025) or at their voting station on Election Day (Oct. 20, 2025) may apply to vote by mail-in ballot.

If a voter is not on the electors register, they will be required to sign a statement and provide acceptable identification (ID) to complete their application. Applications can be made online at electionscalgary.ca/mailinballot, or in person at:

·       Elections Calgary Mail-in Ballot office

Deerfoot Junction III Building, Suite 101, 1212 31 Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 7S8

(Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)

The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is Oct. 20, 2025 at 10 a.m.

Distribution of mail-in ballot packages

The last day to request a mail-in ballot package to be sent by courier was Oct. 3, 2025. After Oct. 3, 2025, mail-in ballot packages can only be picked up at the Elections Calgary Mail-in Ballot office.

Mail-in ballot packages requested by Oct. 3, 2025 will be distributed by courier, where possible. Couriers will attempt to deliver packages once, after which voters will be informed their package will be held at the Elections Calgary Mail-in Ballot office for pick up.

Returning completed mail-in ballot packages

Voters must ensure their completed mail-in ballot package is received at the Elections Calgary Mail-in Ballot office by Oct. 20, 2025 at 12 p.m. (noon) in order to be counted. Completed packages may be couriered to (at the voter’s expense) or dropped off at the Elections Calgary Mail-in Ballot office.

Given the proximity to the deadline, we recommend packages be dropped off.

A copy of a voter’s acceptable ID needs to be included with the completed mail-in ballot package. A copy could be:

·       a printed photo of your ID, or

·       a photocopy.

Voters who require assistance with their mail-in ballot application, or have inquiries about their mail-in ballot package can contact 403-476-4100 or e-mail mailinballots@calgary.ca for support.

The Voter Guide and the Where Do I Vote tool can be used to find Advance Vote and Election Day voting stations.
