Special (mail-in) ballot requests for Calgary’s 2025 General Election now available

Mail-in ballot packages for the 2025 General Election can now be requested by voters.

A voter whose name is contained in the permanent electors register (electors register) and who is unable to vote at an Advance Vote (Oct. 6-11, 2025) or at their voting station on Election Day (Oct. 20, 2025) may apply to vote by mail-in ballot. Applications can be made online at electionscalgary.ca/mailinballot, or in person at the Elections Calgary Mail-in Ballot office:

Deerfoot Junction III Building

Suite 101, 1212 31 Avenue N.E., Calgary

Voters who require assistance with their application can contact 403-476-4100 for support.

If a voter is not on the electors register, they will be required to sign a statement and provide acceptable identification (ID) to complete their request.

Mail-in ballots will be mailed out to eligible requestors starting Sept. 29, 2025, once Elections Calgary has the official list of candidates. The last day to request a mail-in ballot package to be sent by mail is Oct. 3, 2025. Any requests made after this date will need to be picked up in person from the Elections Calgary Mail-in Ballot office. The last day to request a package for pickup is Oct. 20, 2025 at 10 a.m.

A copy of a voter’s acceptable ID needs to be included with the completed mail-in ballot package. A copy could be:

  • a printed photo of your ID, or
  • a photocopy.

Mail-in ballots must be received by Election Day, Oct. 20, 2025 at 12 p.m. (noon):

If Canada Post services are disrupted, Elections Calgary will use a courier to send mail-in ballot packages, where possible. Return courier will be at the voter's expense.
