Serious injury collision sends two to hospital

We are investigating a single-vehicle collision that occurred early this morning along Centre Street N that seriously injured two men.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, a grey Hyundai Genesis was travelling south on Centre Street N at a high speed. Shortly after passing through the intersection at 34 Avenue, the driver lost control of the vehicle. It travelled through the front yards of several homes in the 3300 block of Centre Street before striking a light pole, two large pine trees, wooden fences and a thicket of shrubs and small trees.

The Hyundai then became airborne, touching down on the edge of an empty plot of land before rolling and flipping several times. The car came to a rest on the passenger side.

Two men in their early 20s were taken to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition.

Excessive speed and alcohol are being investigated as factors in the collision.

We are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision and are asking them to call the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously through any of the following methods:
