Serious injury collision involving pedestrian and CTrain

We are urging caution around CTrain platforms and tracks after responding to a serious injury collision early this morning.

On Saturday, July 10, 2021, at approximately 3 a.m., a 28-year-old male pedestrian was in the tunnel to the north of the Victoria Park/Stampede CTrain station when he was struck by a southbound CTrain.

The pedestrian suffered serious, life-threatening and life-altering injuries. Calgary Transit Peace Officers came to his aid before Calgary Fire Department and EMS personnel attended. The man was transported to hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The operator of the train was not injured.
