Serious dog bite incident in northeast Calgary

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating a serious dog bite incident involving a child.

Officers responded to a home in the 0 to 100 block of Castleridge Way N.E., around 3:15 p.m., today, Tuesday, Jan 3, 2017, after reports a four-year-old boy had been bitten by at least two large dogs. It’s unknown at this point what led up to the incident. The incident occurred in the backyard of the residence.

The child has been transported to hospital in serious condition. The CPS and Calgary Community Standards, Animal Services are now investigating.
