Serious assault investigation

UPDATE: Police have located the Chevrolet Monte Carlo that is believed to be connected to this investigation. The vehicle was reported by a member of the public early this evening. Investigators would like to thank the media and public for sharing information about the vehicle so it could be quickly found.

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating a serious assault that left a man in life-threatening condition, and is seeking public assistance with locating the victim’s vehicle.

At approximately 7:45 a.m., today, Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, police were called to the 100 block of Dovertree Place S.E., for a check on welfare. Upon arrival officers found a man in his 30s in serious medical distress. The victim was taken to hospital and remains in life-threatening condition.

Investigators are seeking any information about the movements and whereabouts of the victim’s vehicle between Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, and today. The vehicle is described as a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, black with red lettering, baring Alberta licence plate BXF 3726. It may also have damage to the front driver’s side of the vehicle.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked not to approach it, and call the police non-emergency number, 403-266-1234.
