Update – Patrick Leo McGANN arrested

Patrick Leo McGANN, 52, was arrested today, Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, in London, Ont., by the Ontario Provincial Police Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad. This was a co-ordinated effort that required support from our law enforcement partners across Canada, and we'd like to thank the OPP who were instrumental in locating and arresting McGANN. 

Arrangements are now being made to transport McGANN back to the Southern Alberta Forensic Psychiatry Centre and schedule a new court appearance. 

Seeking public assistance to locate offender who is unlawfully at large

We are looking for the public’s help to locate an offender who may be travelling in British Columbia or Ontario.

Patrick Leo McGANN, 52, is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large and an Alberta-wide warrant for disobeying a court order, after failing to return to the Southern Alberta Forensic Psychiatry Centre following an approved outing on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023.

We, along with our law enforcement partners across the country have made several attempts to locate McGANN, however investigators have been unable to find him. It is believed he may be in Vancouver, British Columbia, or Ontario.

McGANN is described as 5’11” tall, 157 pounds, with a slim build, blond hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be travelling in a light-green 2005 Hyundai Elantra, bearing Alberta Licence Plate CFP0443.
