Seeking public assistance to locate classic car

The Calgary Police Service Auto Theft Team is seeking public assistance to locate a unique classic car that was stolen from northwest Calgary.

Sometime between 1 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, and 7:30 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, unknown offender(s) stole a blue 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle that was parked outside a business located in the 100 block of Crowfoot Way N.W.

Given the uniqueness of the car, investigators are seeking public assistance to locate it.

The vehicle is in good condition, has two black racing stripes over the top and a black interior.

Citizens who are looking to purchase used vehicles are reminded to always check that the vehicle is not stolen prior to purchase by:

  • Obtaining a CARPROOF/CARFAX report.
  • Ensuring that the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) matches all other VINs on the vehicle, such as on the dash and all the doors.
  • Search the Canadian Police Information Centre to ensure the vehicle is not listed as stolen.
  • Be wary of vehicles that have been re-registered recently without a valid explanation for why this was done.
