Seeking public assistance to identify suspects in assault

We have charged one teen with aggravated assault in relation to an incident that occurred in April and are looking for the public’s help to identify three additional suspects.

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, at approximately 9:15 p.m., a 19-year-old male attended a car show and shine event in a parking lot located in the 5300 block of 61 Avenue S.E. While at the event, the teen was assaulted by a group of four suspects.

The next day, on Sunday, April 19, 2026, the victim attended hospital, where he was treated for his injuries, which required surgery. On Monday, April 20, 2026, the victim’s family contacted police to report the assault.

Investigators collected CCTV from the area of the assault and were able to identify one suspect, who was known to the victim. On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the suspect, an 18-year-old male was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. The accused cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act as he was a minor at the time of the assault.

Police are now looking for the public’s help to identify the remaining three suspects who were also involved in the assault.

The first suspect is described as male, 18 to 25 years old, with a light complexion, medium to heavy muscular build, black hair and a black beard. He was wearing white sneakers, black pants, a light-grey hoodie and black cap.

The second suspect is described as male, with a slim to medium build and was wearing a black motorcycle helmet, black jacket and light-coloured pants.

We do not currently have a description of the third suspect.
