Seeking public assistance to identify sexual assault suspect

We are looking for the public’s help to identify a man who is believed to have sexually assaulted a woman walking in southeast Calgary in August.

On Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, at approximately 8 a.m., a woman was walking on 36 Street S.E., towards Memorial Drive, when an unknown man approached her from behind. The man groped the woman and fled on foot. Officers attended the scene and searched the surrounding area, however, were unable to locate the suspect.

Investigators have reviewed CCTV from the area and, after exhausting all other investigative avenues, are releasing images of the suspect. He is described as 18 to 25 years old, with a slim build and black hair. Photos of the man are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.
