Seeking public assistance to identify men involved in downtown shooting
We are seeking public assistance to identify two men believed to be involved in a shooting that occurred last week.
On Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at approximately 5:25 p.m., a dispute occurred between a group of individuals near the intersection of 5 Avenue and 4 Street S.E. During the altercation, two of the individuals discharged firearms, causing injuries to one victim. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was transported to hospital in critical condition. His condition has since been upgraded to stable.
Investigators have reviewed CCTV from the area and are looking for the public’s help to identify two men. Photos of both men are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.
Although this shooting is believed to have been targeted, it was a brazen display of violence that put many Calgarians at risk.
