Seeking public assistance to identify fraud suspects

We are asking for the public’s help to identify two men believed to be responsible for purchasing nearly $13,000 worth of items using stolen credit and debit cards.

On Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, it is believed a woman had her wallet stolen sometime between 3:15 and 9 p.m., while she attended a bowling alley and then a restaurant in northeast Calgary. Her wallet contained both debit and credit cards.

It is believed that on the same night, her stolen cards were used to purchase more than $4,300 in electronics from the Walmart located at 35 Sage Hill Gate N.W., and nearly $8,700 worth of other items from various locations across the city.

Police have obtained CCTV footage of the men who are believed to have used the cards and are asking for the public’s help to identify them.

The first man is described as having dark hair tied in a bun and a beard.

The second man is described as having short, dark hair and glasses.

Both men were dressed in black clothing.
