Seeking public assistance to identify arson suspects

We are looking for the public’s help to identify suspects who are believed to be responsible for a vehicle fire that occurred in northeast Calgary last month.

On Thursday, May 11, 2023, at approximately 8 p.m., three men parked a 2015 black Jeep Cherokee in the alley behind a residence located in the 500 block of 10 Avenue N.E. The men quickly exited the vehicle, lit it on fire and then fled the scene. Based on review of CCTV footage, the suspects ran east in the alley, north on Fifth Street N.E., and then east on 10 Avenue N.E.

The Calgary Fire Department attended the scene and extinguished the fire, which caused significant damage to the vehicle and a nearby fence.

Investigators determined the Jeep was stolen three days prior from a residence located in the 2400 block of 28 Avenue S.W. After review of CCTV footage from the area, investigators also obtained images of the suspects and are now looking for the public’s help to identify them.

The first suspect is described as a man in his 20s, with a slim build. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and light-coloured shoes.

The second suspect is described as a man in his 20s with a medium build and short black hair. He was wearing a black and white hoodie, light-coloured pants and white shoes.

The third suspect is described as a man in his 20s, with a slim build. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and light-coloured shoes.
