Seeking Public Assistance: Oct. 10 shooting investigation

Investigators are seeking public assistance to identify and locate a person believed to have been involved in a shooting earlier this month.

At approximately 9:40 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, police were called to the 1000 block of 17 Avenue S.W., for reports of a shooting. Two people were taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

Investigators canvassed the area for CCTV and are releasing photos of a man who is believed to have information about the incident. Witnesses describe him as a black male, with a slim build, wearing a dark jacket, black shoes and dark pants with a white stripe.

It is believed the man was a passenger in a red truck that fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Witnesses report seeing some kind of large equipment in the back of the truck.

This shooting is believed to be targeted, however, the exact motive remains unclear at this time. Police have received limited cooperation from the victims.
