Seeking public assistance in suspicious death investigation

We are looking for information from the public after a woman’s body was located earlier this morning in southeast Calgary.

At approximately 9:10 a.m., today, Monday, April 17, 2023, we were called for reports that a woman’s body had been located in the alley behind the 700 block of 40 Street S.E. Homicide detectives and the medical examiner attended the scene and are investigating the death as suspicious.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

Officers are in the process of reviewing CCTV footage and are asking anyone with CCTV or dashcam video from the area surrounding 40 Street and Fonda Way S.E., between Saturday, April 15, to today, Monday, April 17, 2023, to contact police.
