Seeking public assistance in southeast sexual assault

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to identify a man who inappropriately grabbed a woman at a store in southeast Calgary.

On Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at approximately 10:15 p.m., a woman was shopping in a Walmart, located in the 300 block of Shawville Boulevard S.E., and noticed an unknown man following her as she moved throughout the store. She continued shopping, at which point she noticed the man standing in front of her. The man then approached her and inappropriately touched her without her consent. The woman was able to free herself and notified two men who were nearby in the store.

After reviewing CCTV, investigators believe that the same man also approached another female in the store around the same time. Police are looking to speak to anyone who may have had contact with the man around the time of this offence or is able to identify him.

He is described as Indigenous, approximately 25 years old, 5’10” tall, and was clean shaven. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a long grey hoodie. Photos of the man are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

Anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the man is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously through either of the following methods:
