Seeking public assistance in shooting investigation

We are looking for the public’s help to identify suspects responsible for a shooting that occurred in the northeast community of Redstone last month.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., two unknown masked males approached a residence in the 100 block of Redstone Common N.E., and fired gunshots into the unoccupied residence. The men were observed fleeing the area by running across a field, before being picked up by a dark-coloured sedan, believed to be a 2003 to 2008 Toyota Corolla with black rims.

No one was injured during this incident.

Police attended the area to collect evidence, which included the review of a significant amount of CCTV footage from the area. At this time, it is believed this was a targeted incident.

Investigators believe this incident has ties to the ongoing extortion series targeting South Asians and we continue to work collaboratively with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams to identify potential suspects. Since the beginning of 2025, 21 extortions related to this series have been reported in Calgary, including 11 shootings.
