Seeking public assistance in shooting investigation

We are looking for information from the public after two men attended a northeast Calgary hospital with gunshot wounds last month.

Just after 3 a.m., on Saturday, March 28, 2026, two men attended the Peter Lougheed Centre, located at 3500 26 Ave. N.E., suffering from gunshot wounds. Patrol officers circulated multiple areas attempting to locate the scene of the shooting, however, were unsuccessful. No shootings were reported to police.

The victims have since been released from hospital.

Investigators have been able to determine that the victims had attended an event at the Empire Banquet Hall, located at 4826 11 St. N.E., earlier that night. After a review of CCTV, it is believed the victims left the banquet hall just after midnight and it remains unknown where or when the shooting took place.

At this stage, we believe the shooting was likely targeted, however we are looking for anyone with information about this incident, including where the shooting occurred, to come forward.

“The presence of firearms in our community is a significant concern. Targeted or not, shootings put our entire community at risk,” says Det. Kim Zinn of the CPS District 4 General Investigations Unit. “We are asking anyone with information to contact police. Sometimes even the smallest piece of information can be the puzzle piece we need.”
