Seeking public assistance in relation to two stolen trailers

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to locate a truck in relation to two trailer thefts that occurred yesterday morning in the Foothills Industrial Area.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, a man operating a Ford F350 Platinum Edition truck stole a utility trailer from a business located in the 5500 block of 51 Avenue S.E. Approximately an hour later, the man returned to the same location and stole a second trailer, using the same truck.

The first trailer stolen is a dark-blue, 2014 Load Trail flat-deck trailer, bearing the Alberta licence plate 4RD348 and valued at approximately $10,000. The second trailer is a black, 2013 Mirage dump-style trailer, bearing Alberta licence plate Y34349 and valued at approximately $7,000.

The man is described as Caucasian and had a shaved head. He was wearing blue jeans, brown work-style boots, and a black-hooded jacket.

The truck used to steal the two trailers is believed to be a 2008 to 2014 model and has a distinct lift kit with black oversized wheels, a headache rack and a sled deck on the box of the truck. The truck was using a drop-down hitch and the licence plate of the truck had been covered up.

CCTV was collected from the area and images of the truck and the man are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

Anyone with information about this incident, the vehicle or suspect involved, or the whereabouts of the trailers is asked to call The Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be left anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
