Seeking public assistance in relation to nighttime break and enter

The Calgary Police Service has located and arrested Tyler Lee WAPEGAN, who was wanted in connection with a nighttime break and enter that occurred in southeast Calgary.

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to locate a man wanted on warrants in relation to a nighttime break and enter that occurred last week.
On Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at approximately 3 a.m., an unknown man entered an apartment located in the 1300 block of 27 Street S.E., through an open window. The man walked around the apartment briefly before stealing a security camera and fleeing the apartment through the open window. Two residents were inside the apartment and asleep while this break and enter occurred.
At approximately 5 a.m., when one of the residents woke up, he had a notification on his phone from his security camera indicating there had been activity in the kitchen overnight and notified police.
Following a thorough investigation and review of the images captured and sent to the resident’s phone by the security camera, police were able to identify a suspect.
Tyler Lee WAPEGAN, 32, of no-fixed-address, is wanted on a warrant for break and enter in relation to this case. WAPEGAN is also wanted on a warrant for mischief to property for another incident that occurred in May 2019.
WAPEGAN is described as 5’ 11” tall, approximately 150 pounds with a slim build, brown eyes and black hair.
