Seeking public assistance in jewelry theft

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in relation to a significant theft of jewelry from a southwest residence.

On Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, between approximately 6:45 and 8:45 p.m., an unknown offender(s) gained entry into a home located in the 100 block of Pumpmeadows Place S.W. Multiple items were taken from the home, including a number of pieces of jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash. The jewelry is of significant monetary and sentimental value.

Police are looking to identify a vehicle and its occupant that may be linked to this incident. CCTV from the area shows a vehicle, described as a crossover or compact SUV, as well as an individual walking northbound along Pumpmeadows Place prior to the incident. This person may have information that would assist with the investigation.

Police encourage homeowners to report suspicious activity in their community and to activate alarms when absent.
