Seeking public assistance – sexual assault

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to identify a man believed to have touched a woman inappropriately.

On Saturday, July 7, 2018, at approximately 3:40 p.m., a woman aboard a northwest-bound CTrain was approached by a man who sat near her and engaged her in conversation. Following a brief conversation, during which the man is believed to have touched the victim’s arms, the man grabbed the woman inappropriately. The woman moved to the other end of the CTrain car and it is believed that the male exited the train at the Dalhousie station.

The suspect is described as a South Asian man, approximately 45 to 65 years old, between 5’10” and 6’0” tall, 165 to 185 lbs, with a long grey and white beard. He was wearing a white turban, sunglasses or glasses, white shirt and pants, a black vest, dark dress shoes, a gold watch with a brown strap, and was carrying a black shoulder bag.

Video and still photos of the man entering and exiting the CTrain are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

Anyone with information about the identity of the man is asked to contact police by calling the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be left anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers using any of the following methods:
